Some users are reporting see an error that says "Sorry, there was a problem" on the Select Journal Style and Customize Journal Style pages. This is a problem inherited from the LiveJournal code and occurs if a layer that is used in your default style is deleted. Information has been filed in our ticket tracker, and it will be resolved as soon as possible.
In the meantime, if this occurs to you, the easiest way to resolve the problem is to go to the "Your Styles" page in the Advanced Customization area and "Use" another style. If you do not have another style, you may have to create a new one. You can then "Delete" the style that you were previously using and then return to the Select Journal Style or Customize Journal Style page to continue to edit your style to your preferences.
In addition, if you are not already aware, both the Negatives and Transmogrified layouts allow you to customize colours, choose and reorder "sidebar" modules, and edit some of the default text. These features are constantly being upgraded to offer users easy ways to customize their journals. In the next short while, for example, you'll also be able to use the customization wizard to add various images to your journal design, such as a header/banner, background, and entry images.
You can also add a "Links List" or enter Custom CSS. Both of these styles (and the upcoming styles) allow for a lot of customization via CSS, if that's your thing. And while the styles team hasn't had the chance to standardize Zesty it also has a number of neat options that we'll be integrating into core2 so that all layouts can make use of them.
If you're having any additional problems, please check the "Known Issues", and if your issue isn't mentioned, open a support request further down on the page. This will ensure that you get a quick and accurate answer.
